Today’s lifestyle leaves us open to a daily chemical assault, from the air we breathe to the water we drink, and the skincare and haircare products we use daily. It is not known what the long-term effects of these chemicals will be, but one thing’s for sure, it can’t be good.

Some people are unaware of the huge amounts of additives in their food, water and personal care products. Some are too busy to care, and others have the attitude ‘ Yes I know, it’s awful,
but what can you do?’

The informed, wise people out there though, are taking a different view. Any species that fails to live in harmony with it’s natural environment will eventually make itself extinct. Fact. It’s nature. If human beings carry on the way they are going, they will indeed end up extinct..

For instance, 100 years ago, cancer affected approximately 1 in every 50 people. Now it strikes 1 in 3. It won’t be long before it is striking half the population. It doesn’t take a genius to realise that our lifestyle is the biggest factor influencing this increase.

Diet especially, is of paramount importance when it comes to maintaining good health, but so many people ignore this fact and fill their bodies ( and their kids) with low-nutrient , chemical and additive filled junk.

When people eat meat, they are consuming the same chemicals and hormones that the animal ate. Obesity is on the sharp increase,
and it’s not surprising considering that the majority of obese people are meat-eaters. They eat the meat, the meat is full of growth hormones and chemicals, the growth hormones are absorbed into the human body, so the person gets fatter. Want my advise -if your are overweight and seriously want to lose weight – go on a low fat vegetarian diet.

If your body had a choice, it would ask for lots of fresh organic fruit and vegetables, preferably raw. Your body would choose clean , fresh water ( I mean pure bottled spring water, not the stuff that comes out of your tap at home). Think about how much fresh water you consume in a day, and by that I mean water not mixed with squash, tea , coffee or anything else. I bet it’s not much. Do your body a favour, next time you reach for the fizzy drink, reach for the mineral water instead.

Tap water is just another way that we are being poisoned on a daily basis. It contains chemicals, hormones and in a lot of areas it also contains fluoride. Yes, sodium fluoride , that old favourite. The stuff they put in toothpaste is the same stuff they use to make rat-poison ! Surprised. Sodium fluoride is not the same as naturally-occuring calcium flouride. People tend to think calcium flouride is what goes into toothpaste and the water supply, wrong.

Sodium fluoride is a by-product of aluminium smelting and other industries. It’s nothing more than toxic waste. For years it was very expensive to dispose of, until someone decided to make up some rubbish about it being good for our teeth, so they could get away with disposing of it in our water supply.

This of course was done without public agreement.Nice, thanks for that, I’ll stick to the bottled stuff.

Sodium fluoride builds up in the body over time, and causes cancer, it makes bones softer so they fracture more easily, and it doesn’t protect your teeth, in fact it has the opposite effect. Sodium flouride is a main ingredient in anesthetic,
hypnotic, and psychiatric drugs as well as military nerve gas.

Sodium fluoride promotes mental disturbances. The Nazi’s added it to the water supply at the concentration camps during the war, to help sterilize the prisoners and force them to be calm
and submissive.

Sodium Fluoride has a poisonous and narcotic effect on a certain area of the brain, which makes the person submissive and less able to resist those who wish to control him. It’s a way of controlling of the masses. Hmmmm, makes you wonder what the government have in mind for us today……

When we look at the skincare and haircare products we use daily, most contain sodium lauryl ( or laureth ) sulfate. This is a foaming agent which is so harsh that it was first used as engine degreaser! Fancy that, washing your skin and hair in something harsh enough to strip oil off a garage floor. No wonder we’re all spending a fortune on moisturisers! Hmmm, am I just paranoid or do you think there could be some method in their madness……

So they put this SLS in your shampoo, shower gel, bath foam, toothpaste etc, and then add moisturising ingredients to the same products to counteract the drying effects of the SLS. Why not just buy products without SLS? That’s what the smart people are doing. That’s what I do.

Since I stopped using commercial shampoos and skincare products, and switched to all natural skin care products, and natural hair care products, my skin and hair are gorgeous. My hair that was once frizzy and dry is now curly and shiny.

Since I began using organic, aromatherapy based skin care, my skin that was once so shiny from all the grease and additives from my previous moisturiser, is now so soft , much younger looking, and I don’t need powder or foundation because my skin is great!

I use non-flouride toothpaste, and I take vitamin and mineral supplements every day. I eat organic fruit and vegetables only, I drink only bottled water, I am vegetarian so I eat a very natural , low fat diet, that’s full of nutrients. I have never felt so healthy.

If you value your body, your health and your life,as well as your children and other loved ones, you owe it to yourself to change your lifestyle right now.

I grew up in farm country and there is a lot that can be learned from the farmer who plants his seed in the spring. Much like the farmer who’s goal is to harvest a fruitful and flourishing crop, your goal would be to begin living health and fitness.

A farmer plants his seed in good soil and then he is prepared to tend to it, nourish it, weed it and patiently watch it come to fruition. In much the same way, if our goal is to lose weight, we also must be prepared to find a good seed of a plan and plant it, nourish it, guard against the weeds, and be patient as our plan begins to take root and flourish.

Let me ask you a question. Does the farmer who plants the seed today expect a full crop next Friday? The most logical answer is “of course not”. He knows that he must be patient and give the seed time to grow and produce. There again we must give our plan for living health and fitness time to take root in our every day life and grow into a lifestyle.

It stands to reason that the deeper the roots the better the results. We can not expect to half heatedly try this diet or that work out and expect great results. We must have a deep rooted commitment to do the workout or to follow the diet plan. I suggest that we take small steps toward our goals and celebrate each day’s success by committing to do it again tomorrow.

Be prepared for the weeds. Let me tell you, the weeds will come. The weeds of doubt, and impatience, can work their way into our lives and they will chip away at our commitment. If we do nothing to prevent them they will destroy our crop. We need to get rid of the weeds of self doubt and the weeds of impatience as soon as they show up. Don’t even give them a chance or they will take over your garden.

So let us take a lesson from the farmer. Start with a good plan, be prepared to give it time to grow and guard yourself against the weeds that will try to creep in and steal your crop. By the way, I have found a great, healthy, lifestyle plan, it is easy to follow and is all laid out for you with support along the way. For all of the details follow this link to my blog. Eyes puffy, red and sore. Feel like your sinuses a closing up without the benefit of a headcold to go with it? Look like you’ve gone ten rounds in the ring with the World Heavyweight Boxing Champion?

If you’ve been experiencing the above symptoms on and off over the last few months, or years, and you’ve written off colds as being the culprit, then it could be an allergic reaction to your soaps and cosmetics.

Allergies can come in all shapes and sizes, and with symptoms around the face you shouldn’t rule out airborne or plant-based allergens either. Here’s a few quick suggestions to help you figure out what might be going on.

Are you itchy anywhere else? Common spots to be effected are your armpits, arms and legs, but you could be itchy anywhere. A rash isn’t necessarily present, but if you’re presenting with one, get yourself to a doctor or naturopath as soon as you can to have it checked. Is your scalp itchy for no apparent reason ie, you’ve ruled out skin condition, dry scalp and lice.

These are all prime indications of intolerance to the chemicals and/or fragrances used in cosmetics or soap.

It’s easy to check. Switch to chemical-free, fragrance-free products and see what happens. If the symptoms decrease, and barring any other symptoms, then it’s likely you’ve found the source of the problem. Lucky you, it wasn’t too bad. If the symptoms persist you may need to be a bit stricter with your product. Look for soaps that are naturally made from olive oil or castille oils and have absolutely no chemicals or fragrances.

Read the labels carefully! These products will probably come in bars or rounds of soap-like substance. They are much softer than soap and need to be kept dry in between uses. The products come in a range suitable for body and hair, and though more expensive than common commercial cosmetics, you do not need extra add-ons like conditioner. The companies that manufacture such natural products usually produce a skin-care range as well and provide helpful tips on their products and the benefits of avoiding chemicals.

If your skin is not sensitive or fragile, then a loofah brush can be a great help as well. It removes dead skin cells, improves circulation, assists with muscle strength & pain through massaging, aids with conditions like tinea, and feels wonderful! When using a loofah brush, be gentle around the decolletage and neck area, and avoid the face completely. If you’d like to try a similar technique on your face, purchase a facial brush.

So, you’re doing all you can and the allergic symptoms are still persisting? 1. If at any time your symptoms go beyond the inconvenient and annoying, go to your health professional. 2. Look at other possible allergens your body comes into contact with, such as detergents, air fresheners, cleaning chemicals, plants, air pollution. Make the switch to safer, gentler products wherever you can. 3. If you are fed up with the symptoms or if they are increasing in severity, please, it’s time to go to your health professional. You may need to undergo more detailed allergy testing or the symptoms may be indicators of something else.

Do not play around with your health and your life, if in doubt, seek professional help. Easing of even niggling symptoms may save you from worse later on.

Become healthy and energetic are the most important things for athletes. One of the foundations for health is your diet, my mother always say that your health depends on what you eat, and as an athlete, you should manage your diet and concern about how the foods are prepared because your body need adequate calories and nutrition to achieve the top level of health, so you can give your best performance in competitions. In this article, I want to share about several healthy eating tips for athletes and foods to enhance your health.

The foods you eat can affect your performance, if you eat in a wrong way and not the right kind of foods, you will find your self in a bad health condition and poor stamina to compete. There are several tips you can apply to boost your energy and performance in competition:

Eat a variety of meals to get a balanced intake of energy and nutrients. Your diet should include a lot of whole grains, fruits, and vegetables in order have a balance intake of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins, and water. Because you need more than 40 different nutrients to maintain your health and there is no single food that can supply all of the nutrients. Eat adequate calories that equal to your exercise. You must know how much calories your body needs, because calories replace the energy you have used in competition or exercise. So as a good athlete, you should match the calories intake to your exercise. Eat no new meal before a competition. Because new meals may not suitable for your digestion and can give you unwanted effect to your health. Don’t eat high fiber foods before an exercise or a competition. High fiber foods like broccoli and cereal may cause your stomach pain during competition. Stay away from sugars and sweets before a competition. Because foods high in sugars can boost your energy fast, but they do not last for long and most foods like candy bars don’t contain any of the other nutrients your body needs. Reduce eating high dietary fat foods. They are harder to digest and will make you feel tired if you eat too much. Try to eat fresh foods, because they are healthier and tastier. And if you cook the foods by your self, you can also safe budget. Drink a lot of water, your body needs water to keep hydrated because you will lose a lot of fluids during exercise.

As you might know by now, you need food to fuel your body but if you put the junk food in, you will also get the junk out. Healthy diets will help you improve your success and get to the peak performance in competition.

Looking for that perfect beauty facial skin care tip? How about going “all natural”? There are a growing number of experts (doctors, nutritionists, cosmeticians, etc) who believe that anything you put on your face should be natural and safe enough to eat.

Practically all cosmetics contain preservatives and other chemicals that can be absorbed through your pores. Since, some of the common ingredients are known to cause cancer, rubbing them all you’re your face or anywhere on your body, really doesn’t seem like a good idea. With that in mind, we found five masks that you can cook up right in your own kitchen, suggestions for lightening age spots or dark circles and a little advice about buying all natural skin care products.

Beauty Facial Skin Care Tip for the Eyes

You may have seen this in TV shows, but it really works. To lighten dark circles under your eyes, wrap a grated raw potato in cheesecloth and apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes or you can simply use cucumber slices. You will notice that your eyes feel cooler and when you look in the mirror, you will see less puffiness and dark areas will look lighter. Wipe off the residue and apply a restorative eye gel. The best ones contain COQ10, vitamin E, brown algae and other nourishing ingredients.

Beauty Facial Skin Care Tip to Relieve Dryness

This mask is created using 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 2 of fresh cream. Mix the two together and apply to the face. Wait ten minutes and rinse. It’s very simple, but hydrating and also nourishing. Make sure that both the olive oil and the cream are fresh and contain no added flavorings or preservatives. Use about once a week.

Beauty Facial Skin Care Tip For Excessive Oiliness

Most products on the market are too harsh. They strip away too many of your natural oils that protect your face from the damaging elements. But, when you have excessive oiliness, there are food products that will absorb some of the oil, because they are naturally acidic, thus slightly changing the pH balance.

You can mix a tablespoon of honey with one egg white (not the yolk) and apply thickly to your forehead, neck and other problem areas. Leave the mask on for 10 minutes. Then wash with a mild cleanser.

Honey and egg white are sometimes difficult to mix. You can also use two tablespoons or more of papaya pulp, with at least 10 drops of lemon juice. Apply as you would any other mask. Leave for 20 minutes and then rinse well. You’ll see papaya and avocado masks in the stores, but they contain preservatives and artificial fragrances and colors. Making your own is safer and just as effective.

Any fruit juice contains vitamin C, which is naturally acidic. When used in a facial, they refresh, stimulate circulation, close pores and act as an antioxidant destroying free radicals produced after exposure to the sun. Cooked and mashed carrots and honey can also be used.

Beauty Facial Skin Care Tip for All Skin-types

Honey is one of the best masks, but active manuka honey is the most effective. It can be difficult to find, but is available in one of the better all-natural skincare lines.

Before the honey is applies, you should put a very warm damp towel over your face to open your pores. Following a 20 minute soak in honey, rinse off with warm water. Follow with cold to tighten and close the pores. You can use this about once a week. Yogurt and honey or fruit juice can be mixed together to create a thicker and more nourishing mask. Follow the same directions as above. Use only plain, unflavored yogurt.

Our final beauty facial skin care tip is this; if you are too busy to make your own, look for 100% natural ingredients that nourish, heal and allow the skin-cells to repair themselves. The best products are made by a New Zealand company and sold only directly from the factory, so they cost less than department store varieties.
